I picked this one because i know that certain people who im not going to name but that person is NOT AN AMERICAN BORN and i would sell a kidney for him cause i love that guy and we are tight like a nun and glue or rusty oil and a used tire used by a redneck trying to outrun the cops for illegal moonshining, or like illegal's south of the border and electric fences. That person doesnt like fox news so thats why i picked that instead of that un-American pro liberal CNN or BBC news.
Its great that they are suffering they deserve it, you shouldnt mess with the United States ever you injury us we come back with a roar and fight until victory. Releasing documents that have National Security information on it is never right;there are certain things the public should know and other things they dont need to know and this includes one of them. They had documents about Afghan informants who are helping us kill or capture Al-Qaeda or the Taliban that are bogging us down hard. Now Special Forces can continue their work to bring freedom to the people of Afghanistan and they can have a better life they deserve finally after suffering under the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban ) from 1996-2001. They did control 90 % of the country the other 10 % belonged to the Northern Alliance that wanted to help Afghanistan be free of wackos in power. Its never right to release information that is fragile to the safe guard of a nation especially one as great as the United States of America, innocent people get killed when stuff like that happens. Now they hopefully will have no choice to shut down and get out of hurting American influence in the world. As to a question to end this is it right to harm people that are trying to do good ( talking about the American Government) that are protecting the country from terrorists? or is it right to support an idiot that thinks that by releasing Sensitive information he is helping the people "know what is right? "
The beginning of this made me laugh really hard. But, I agree with you here on this one, except why did it have to be fox news? People will just get hurt when documents that shouldn't be released get released. This mess needs to be cleaned up soon.
ReplyDeleteJulian Assange and those who are involved with wikileaks haven't done anything wrong. Nor do I think they've caused much good. I feel the public has a right to know how their representatives are choosing to spend their tax dollars as well as their time. I realize these documents are classified for a reason, but shouldn't our own government be able to protect them. Julian Assange also had no reason to be arrested, it was obviously a set up.
ReplyDeleteI think that the government should be open with its citizens, but to an extent. Obviously we are all ignorant on some levels relating to certain issues, if not then our government would be on the most radical side of transparency. But for good reason certain things are kept from the people. Certain things shouldn't be released unless it is made 100% sure that it will not harm the nation in any way. I feel as though they did a poor job making sure of this with this issue
ReplyDeleteI totes agree with Teresa on this.
ReplyDeleteI really think the government should tell citizens what's going on so we know what's up and we know nothing shady is going on, but I think it needs to be at the appropriate time when it is safe. Not only could people get hurt, Americans like to panic chaotically and this gives them something big to panic about.
Also, leaking it to a wiki? Really? If you're going to leak classified information from the US government, I feel like it should be leaked to a cooler place on the Internet. I'm not really an expert on leaking info on Afgan informants, so I can't give an example of such a website.
I just wonder how all of this will be cleaned up....
I agree with most everything except for the fact that this story is from Fox News..
ReplyDeleteThere is a limit for how much the people should know or at least what should be easily available for citizens to read about. This wiki leak is not helping anything.
Wiki leaks again? Well, it's always important for the government to have transparency in order to legitimize its actions. However, sometimes there are limits to how far this should go. Some things are classified for a reason, often in order to protect citizens (not from the truth, but from other sources of harm) because if the public knows it, the world is likely to know, now that globally we are so interconnected.
ReplyDeleteCitizens should have a right to know most things, and there is some information that is better left for the government to keep hold of. If everyone knew everything more problems would arise. I agree with everyone that it was not the greatest thing to happen, but also our government should keep better track of their documents.
